The Players: Set in Imperial Russia in 1874, the movie follows Anna (Keira Knightley), a wealthy and seemingly happy socialite married to a principled aristocrat (Jude Law) who is called upon to journey to Moscow to convince her sister-in-law (Kelly MacDonald) not to leave her adulterous brother (Matthew McFadyen). Upon arriving in Moscow, Anna meets the young and handsome Count Vronsky (Aaron Johnson) and the two are immediately attracted to one another. Anna throws caution to the wind to pursue her heart's desire, knowing full well that she could lose everything should the affair ever be discovered.
