QuickClick: Ben Stiller's 1992 Die Hard 12 Sketch More Relevant Than Ever

Back in 1992, the Die Hard franchise was only at two installments, with John McClane (Bruce Willis) having successfully defending the Nakatomi building and stopped a rogue counter-terrorist unit from an airport — both on Christmas Eve. Also in 1992, Ben Stiller had yet to break out as a movie star and was working on his own show, The Ben Stiller Show, which was canceled by Fox after 12 episodes yet went on to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing the following year. To say the show was before its time would be an understatement, one that is underlined by the re-discovery of a Die Hard 12 sketch (via The Playlist), which sees Stiller stopping terrorists during a regular visit to the grocery store. It may have seemed ridiculous at the time, yet, years later, Willis would surf a military jet in 2007's Live Free or Die Hard and fight terrorists in Moscow in this month's A Good Day to Die Hard.
