"I guess you really gotta watch where you step in a game called 'Hero's Doodie!'"
Journey to the magical world of video game characters and accompany a classic bad guy on his quest to transcend his programming and become a hero.
The Flick: Wreck-It Ralph
The Skinny: Two-time Emmy-winner Rich Moore (The Simpsons, Futurama) directed this clever, hilarious, visually-stunning animated movie set in the world of video game characters. Wreck-It Ralph was not only a box office hit for Disney, but a critical success, as well, earing an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature and winning the Annie Award for Best Animated Feature.
The Players: Acclaimed actor John C. Reilly (Chicago, The Hours) lends his voice to Wreck-It Ralph, the main villain in the Fix-It Felix, Jr. video game. After thirty years of playing the bad guy, Ralph decides that he wants more out of life, embarking on a cross-game adventure that finds him at odds with King Candy (voiced by Alan Tudyk) and his Cy-Bugs, which are capable of taking over any video game they enter. This could be just the test Ralph needs to prove that he can be a hero, but he has to act quick if he's going to save the day and return to his own game before it gets unplugged forever. Additional voice talents include Jane Lynch (Fox's Glee) as Sergeant Calhoun and Sarah Silverman (The Muppets) as Vanellope von Schweetz.
Look for cameo appearances by such classic video game characters as Bowser from Super Mario Bros., Clyde from Pac-Man, Neff from Altered Beast, Dr. Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog, Kano from Mortal Kombat, Zangief from Street Fighter, Q*Bert from Q*Bert and many, many more!
