It's been a little while since Disney released a trailer for their upcoming adaptation of The Lone Ranger (during the Super Bowl, to be exact), but, with only a few months left before the movie is released, the promotional campaign continues, especially overseas. The latest snippets of footage hail from a newly-released Japanese trailer, which keeps mostly to the usual footage of the Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) coming to in the middle of the desert to meet his future partner Tonto (Johnny Depp), but includes a look at a leg gun used by Helena Bonham Carter's character Red, the madam of a brothel.
Here's the official synopsis for The Lone Ranger.
From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films' The Lone Ranger, a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice — taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
The Lone Ranger was directed by Gore Verbinski (the original Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy) and co-stars Tom Wilkinson (The Kennedys), who plays railroad tycoon Latham Cole, and William Fichtner (Drive Angry) as Butch Cavendish, the villainous leader of the Cavendish gang.
