Why Are You a Cop? | Get the Top Five Cops with Ulterior Motives
10.21.13 by REELZ
Near the beginning of last week’s episode of Cracked, the most adorable little boy ever asked Detective Aidan Black "why?" Why is he a police officer? Obviously, Detective Black’s answer was “to help people” and this is (hopefully) the number one reason, however if Hollywood has taught us anything (and Hollywood never lies…), it’s that this is more-than-likely not the only reason. So we’ve taken a look back at some popular movie cops to see if they have ulterior motives other than, or in addition to, joining the force for the greater good.
Don’t miss Cracked, Friday’s at 10p ET/ 7p PT and if you missed last week’s episode check here for more chances to watch.
As a member of the mob, Sullivan's sole motive as a police officer is to act as a mole. Helping people? Not so much.
A cop who earns his money through contract killing. We're going to say "helping" people is not this man's priority.
While this pup demonstrates ultimate loyalty in the end, we’re willing to bet that this crazy dog did not join the force primarily for the greater good. After all when you have a giant belly to feed you’re going to attach yourself to anybody, whether they want you or not… And Hooch didn’t attach himself to just anybody, he managed to find himself the one and only Detective Scott Turner.
The greater good is the last thing on this ex-con’s mind in Blue Streak whose eyes are practically made of diamonds. This man became a cop (and not even a real one at that) for one reason only. Although he does end up foiling some criminal activity in the process. Who'd have thought?
If helping people came in a donut form, Wiggum would have it down. "Which job can I get the most free food out of. A cop you say? Sign me up now. What about the greater good? Well these donuts are great and good."
