Get to Know the Hillbillies: Mema Talks Sex, while Dee Dee Discusses Classic American Literature
02.20.14 by Mandy
After watching some Hollywood Hillbillies we knew we just had to learn more about these people, and we figured the best way to do that was to round them up and fire some questions at them. Here's what we learned about Mema and Aunt Dee Dee.
Q&A with Mema
Reelz: Will you ever get married again?
Mema: I will never get married again… I don’t want to cook for anybody, I don’t want to wash for anybody and I certainly don’t want to have sex with anybody. If anybody pulled anything on me to have sex with, I would bite it off. I don’t want to do that.
Reelz: If you could give one piece of advice to the people of California, what would it be?
Mema: Gain weight. Quit eating healthy. Quit sleeping with your dog. Quit cutting your grass. Quit putting the calories on the menus. The one thing that I would tell them is: eat more.
Reelz: Where's the best place to get tiramisu?
Mema: Atlanta Georgia. At the Olive Garden.
Q&A with Dee Dee
Reelz: What's your favorite book?
Dee Dee: My favorite book by far, I must say, is Gone with the Wind.
Reelz: What do you like most about California?
Dee Dee: The weather. The weather is gorgeous. And the mosquitos (in Georgia) have teeth. So, no mosquitos and nice weather.
Reelz: What's the best piece of advice your mom ever gave you?
Dee Dee: "Don't have any children. Get a dog." And I guess I took her advice because I don't have kids, but I love my animals a lot.
It turns out that Mema's baudiness and Dee Dee's sweetness aren't just an act. What you see on TV is exactly who these ladies are. You can get more hillbilly wisdom with Mema, Dee Dee and the rest of their kin Wednesday nights at 9p ET/PT.
