New Noah Trailer Gets Introduction from Harry Potter's Emma Watson

It isn't easy making a movie based on the Bible. Just ask Martin Scorsese about the reaction to 1988's The Last Temptation of Christ or Mel Gibson about 2004's The Passion of the Christ. Paramount's upcoming Noah is no different, including the studio and director Darren Aronofsky (The Fighter, Black Swan) going back and forth over which cut to use (Aronofsky's cut is the one that will make it to theaters) and the mixed reviews the movie reportedly received at its Mexico City World premiere. Apparently, much has been made about Aronofsky's loose interpretation of the religious text, prompting the director to tell Variety that the aim of the movie was to surprise audiences who expected nothing more than the Biblical story on the big screen.
"The film was made for believers and non-believers," said Aronofsky. "I’m more concerned about getting non-believers into the theater or people who are less religious. A lot of people are thinking, 'Oh. I don’t want to go see a Bible movie,' but we completely shook up all expectations and people will see that as soon as they sit down and watch the movie."
Aronofsky followed that up by telling The New Yorker (via Digital Spy) that Noah is "the least Biblical Biblical film ever made." While that may not quell the fears from those already leery of a movie playing loose with a story from the Bible, Paramount needed to continue promoting the movie with something other than controversy.
Enter Emma Watson. The Harry Potter actress posted a new trailer for the movie on her Facebook page, which also includes a personal introduction from Watson herself. While Noah is on track for a successful opening weekend, there's nothing like a little Hermione magic to help encourage audiences to show up at the box office.
Noah opens March 28 and co-stars Russell Crowe, Logan Lerman and Jennifer Connelly.
