Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore Get Blended in New Trailer
04.04.14 by Ryan
Like cinematic cicadas, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore star in a movie together every 7-10 years, dating back to 1998's The Wedding Singer. Their latest collaboration, Blended, is their first since 2005's 50 First Dates and is — surprise — a romantic comedy. Only, this time, there's kids.
Unlike their previous movies, Blended finds Sandler and Barrymore as two single parents who are unlucky in their dating lives, particularly with each other. After a failed blind date, the two think they are done with the other, until the find themselves stuck at the same African resort with their respective families. From there, insanity and love ensue as in any romantic comedy, but as the latest trailer shows, there's still plenty of charm in the Sandler/Barrymore pairing, perhaps because they are consistent but not constantly starring in movies together. And for the Sandler detractors out there, we only counted only one nut shot, so perhaps Blended is the Sandler movie that wins you back.
Directed by Wedding Singer director Frank Coraci, Blended opens on May 23.
