Director Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk may not have been the smash hit that its Marvel Studios cousin Iron Man turned out to be, but it still made a hefty profit at the box office. And with both of the Hulk's antagonists — Gen. "Thunderbolt" Ross (played by William Hurt) and Emil "Abomination" Blonsky (Tim Roth) — still alive and well at the end of the movie, the stage is set for a sequel.
Leterrier has gone on the record as saying he would be interested in revisiting the Hulk, whether in a sequel or in The Avengers movie, a team that the Hulk helped create in the Marvel comic books. Also, Edward Norton, who portrayed Bruce Banner, the man who becomes the Hulk, has expressed interest in reprising the role, assuming he has the time in his schedule.
In the most recent Hulk news, Roth told MTV that he has been in talks with Marvel about possibly reprising the role of Blonsky in up to two more Marvel Studios films.
Yeah, we've talked about it &mdash I've talked about it with Marvel. When you do your deal, you sign up for three [films]. So, I've done the one ... and basically, I don't know what they have planned, but they can bring me back.
Roth went on to say that working on The Incredible Hulk was one of the best experiences of his career.
I had the best time ever with that one — more fun on set than anybody. I did it purely for my kids, so my boys can laugh at their dad and have fun with it.
