Stuart Townsend Leaves Thor Over "Creative Differences"

With production about to begin on Thor, Kenneth Branagh was forced to make a casting change. The Associated Press reports that Stuart Townsend, who was cast as Thor's ally Fandral, left the production over "creative differences." He was replaced by Joshua Dallas (The Descent: Part Two).
This isn't the first time Townsend has been replaced in a movie. The original choice for Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Townsend was replaced by director Peter Jackson with Viggo Mortensen. This time, it's Townsend who is bowing out.
Thor just moved its release date to May 6, 2011. The movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Natalie Portman.
