Resident Evil: Afterlife Moves Back to 2010
01.12.10 by Ryan
When will Resident Evil fans get to see Resident Evil: Afterlife? First Milla Jovovich announced that the release date moving to January 14, 2011 was "not official," then she declared that it was moving to January. Now, ShockTillYouDrop reports that Afterlife will instead move back to 2010, opening on September 10.
The reason given for the move to January was that writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson needed more time to complete the 3-D processing for the movie, but it looks like that isn't the case. This also means that the movie won't have to compete with another 3-D horror movie, The Cabin in the Woods, which was to open alongside Afterlife in January. Instead, Afterlife's only opening weekend competition in September is the Ben Affleck-directed crime drama The Town, which won't arrive in 3-D.
