Paranormal Activity 2 Hires Director and Writer
01.20.10 by Ryan
Paranormal Activity actor Micah Sloat has promised that Paranormal Activity 2 won't suffer from the same follow-up failure that Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 did. Unfortunately, the Paranormal 2 is already starting to eerily shadow (no pun intended) the Blair Witch sequel.
According to THR, Paranormal 2 will not be written and directed by Oren Peli, the creator of the original. Instead, Paramount is hiring Saw VI director Kevin Greutert — Paranormal's box office competition — to helm the sequel, with Michael R. Perry (The Dead Zone TV show) writing the script. A new creative team was also hired for Blair Witch 2, while Blair Witch creators, Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez stayed on as Executive Producers. Peli will produce Paranormal 2, and remains confident about the sequel, saying that Greutert and Perry "get it" and promises that "the fans won't be disappointed."
As for the plot of Paranormal 2, the details remain secret, but common sense has it that an unknown creature will likely haunt some unsuspecting people.
