ReelzChannel Set to Simulcast Hope for Haiti Now Telethon
01.20.10 by REELZ
The Hope for Haiti Now telethon will be hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles, Haiti-born singer Wyclef Jean in New York, and CNN's Anderson Cooper in Haiti. All donations will directly benefit The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, United Nations World Food Programme, Oxfam America, Partners in Health, The Red Cross, UNICEF, and the Yele Haiti Foundation. ReelzChannel CEO Stan Hubbard had this to say:
ReelzChannel and its parent company, Hubbard Broadcasting, have a strong commitment to public service. We are pleased to join our colleagues in the television industry to support the Hope for Haiti Now telethon. We have expanded our coverage to include an encore showing of the telethon and added special editions of Hollywood Dailies that will air before and after the telethon. On our network and on Reelz.com, we'll continue exploring opportunities to integrate Haiti recovery efforts into our other programming.
The special one-hour editions of Hollywood Dailies include coverage of preparations for the telethon at the CBS Studios, celebrity reactions from red-carpet premieres and the Sundance Film Festival, and a look at Hollywood's past efforts to raise money in times of disaster.
On Friday, January 22, the programming lineup on ReelzChannel is as follows:
7 PM ET (4 PM PT) - Hollywood Dailies
8 PM ET (5 PM PT) - Hope for Haiti Now
10 PM ET (7 PM PT) - Hollywood Dailies
