Repo Men Promotes Bad Habits, and Frequent Upgrades
02.26.10 by reelz
A movie about a nefarious corporation that forcibly repossesses vital body parts when you are are a little late with your payments really ought to be approached with a little dark humor. And the ad campaign for Repo Men is cranking up to offer this in spades with an edgy new series of posters.
Presented as ads for the evil corporation in question (and with no direct reference to the movie itself), the posters flesh out the temptations a world suffused with easily replaceable organs might have to offer. "Bad Heart? Bad Liver? Bad Credit? No Problem!!!" offers one of the ads. Another takes an even more morbid turn, encouraging people to "drink irresponsibly" and get another liver. And if bad habits weren't temptation enough, they finish off with a suggestion that a new set of eyes could pick up your social life.
Of course, there's a lot they don't tell you. First off, there's that whole repossession thing, which is brought home in the movie with a Logan's Run twist. When a top organ repo man (Jude Law) defaults on his heart payments, he finds his formidable former partner (Forest Whitaker) on his trail.
