Brooklyn's Finest Reviews

Opening alongside Alice in Wonderland, the star-studded cop drama Brooklyn's Finest is getting a little lost in the shuffle. Is it a viable alternative to the Tim Burton pic this weekend?
"Not that Brooklyn's Finest is drab or visually lazy. It is, however, a narrative muddle. "
— John Anderson, Variety
"...a perfectly adequate cop drama..."
— Nathin Rabin, Onion AV Club
"...a heated-to-boiling melodrama, a sustained eruption of bullets flying, hookers hooking, and cops copping to all sorts of crappy behavior for reasons we're meant to think of as reasonable since they work one of NYC's meanest precincts."
— Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly
"...a riot of heavy glances and portentous imagery, a near constant chorus of brooding strings and, in its latter, terminal stages, an excruciating program of narrative elongation that verges on the absurd — or would, if it were directed with even the slightest hint of self-consciousness or humor."
— Andrew Schenker, Slant Magazine
"...three movies in one...Seen it. Seen it. And seen it."
— Robert Wilonsky, Village Voice
