Actor Chris Evans must live a charmed life. Several up-and-coming young Hollywood actors have spent the past couple months vying for the lead role of Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, in director Joe Johnston's The First Avenger: Captain America. However, Evans, who eventually landed the role, told IGN at the WonderCon comic book convention in San Francisco that he got the role by "luck," without having to audition for it.
I didn't actually read for it, but I knew a lot of the guys at Marvel. We had an existing relationship. You know, it's just luck man. It just kinda came my way.
The script for The First Avenger: Captain America was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, but is apparently not locked yet. During a separate interview at WonderCon, Evans said that it is still going through many changes. The movie is expected to go into production in June.
