New Iron Man 2 Footage in Latest ET Exclusive

Entertainment Tonight has just released online an exclusive video from the set of Iron Man 2 that includes nearly a minute of never-before-seen footage from the movie. The video focuses on the simmering-under-the-surface relationship between Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) and his professional assistant and confidante, Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and includes interview snippets with Downey, Jr., Paltrow and director Jon Favreau.
In the first Iron Man, we saw that Pepper was one of the few people that Tony could really rely on when things got tough. There was an obvious attraction between the two of them, but Tony's billionaire playboy ways and duties as Iron Man ultimately got in the way. Favreau said that the underlying attraction between the two characters is ultimately what makes them so much fun to watch on screen.
You know, everybody in the audience is like, 'Why don't they just drop it all, because they clearly both adore each other,' and it's that fun tension that we get to play with.
I like playing that dialogue between the two of them. It gives the movie a little bit of spontaneity and lightness, which doesn't necessarily come in this genre.
Downey, Jr. said that he and Paltrow are at their "best when shooting a scene together." He also said that Tony doesn't fully realize what he has in Pepper.
Tony is kind of not fully acknowledging that although Pepper is his professional employee, that there's something there that he will never find with anyone else.
Paltrow said coming back to work on the sequel was "great," and that it had a comfortable feeling, "like putting on an old pair of shoes." While she admits that there is "good chemistry" between Tony and Pepper, she implies that we will not see a change in the status quo of their relationship in Iron Man 2.
Pepper's the voice of reason. She's a good girl, she's a grounded person, and he's still her boss.
