Zoe Saldana Liked "Saving the Day" in The Losers

In the latest issue of Essence, Saldana discusses how her background and upbringing prepared her for playing butt-kicking roles like her character in The Losers.
Hollywood has made a living out of portraying women to be such canker sores. We always have to be rescued all the time because we're so incompetent. I grew up in Queens in the '80s where women were the caretakers and women were the soldiers. I like holding the gun. I like participating in the saving of the day. I think it's kind of sexy. It's kind of like my mom.
And while director Sylvain White's new movie is big on action and pyrotechnics, according to several members of the cast, it's the "chemistry" between the characters that really makes the movie work.
