Director Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2 opens in less than a week and anticipation is running high for the sequel. To help satiate eager fans and peak the interest of other moviegoers, Paramount and Marvel Studios have released three new clips containing never-before-seen footage, as well as a new action-packed TV spot.
The first clip, released through Moviefone, introduces Natalie Rushman, aka Natasha Romanoff, aka the Black Widow, in one of the funniest — and quickest — action sequences in the movie. As Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) look on, Stark's bodyguard, Happy Hogan (Favreau) tempts fate by condescending to the mysterious new addition to the cast.
The second clip comes from Yahoo and it's another piece of the dramatic Monaco race track fight scene between Ivan Vanko, aka Whiplash (Mickey Rourke), and Stark. The scene shows Stark powering up his sleek new "briefcase armor" and coming to the rescue of Pepper and Happy.
Almost as a follow-up to the race track scene, a new clip from IGN takes place shortly after the fight scene, when Tony confronts Ivan in prison after he is arrested for the attack. Vanko alludes to the fact that his father is somehow responsible for Tony still being alive, seemingly related to the arc reactor technology in his chest.
Finally, a new TV spot has debuted on the official Iron Man 2 Facebook page. While it doesn't include any new footage, it is action-packed and contains that fun "you complete me" scene with Pepper and Tony that didn't actually end up making it into the final cut of the movie.
