The cast of director Seth Gordon's upcoming Horrible Bosses is coming together quickly. The comedy will focus on three friends who hate their bosses and plot to kill them. According to THR, Jason Bateman will play one of the friends who holds a positive outlook on his work until he hits rock bottom when he is passed over for a promotion. Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) will also play one of the friends who is always at the wrong place at the wrong time. The third friend will be a womanizer who loses his job after his boss dies and is replaced, but is yet to be cast.
Colin Farrell will play one of the bosses, after he finishes work on the remake of Fright Night, and Jennifer Aniston is in negotiations to play an aggressive dentist who hits on Day. (Bateman and Aniston co-star in this summer's The Switch.)
In a separate THR report, Jamie Foxx is also joining the cast as a scam artist named Motherf**ker Jones, who offers advice to the three friends on how to kill their bosses. According to the report, it's possible that the character's name could change.
Horrible Bosses has spent years in development with a variety of actors and directors attached before the success of The Hangover convinced New Line to put the movie into development with Gordon (Four Christmases) at the helm. Michael Markowitz, Jonathan Goldstein and actor John Francis Daley (Freaks and Geeks) all took turns writing the script. Brett Ratner (the Rush Hour trilogy) is producing.
