Imogen Poots Joins Fright Night

The Craig Gillepsie-directed remake of Fright Night had only one major part to cast for its retelling of the 1985 horror classic. That role was that of Yelchin's girlfriend Amy, and Slashfilm reports that 28 Weeks Later actress Imogen Poots has been cast in the role.
Previously reported, Anton Yelchin will play the teenage Charlie Brewster, who discovers his neighbor is a vampire (Colin Farrell) and enlists the help of a 'vampire expert' when his girlfriend and best friend fall prey to the undead bloodsucker. Toni Collete is cast as Charlie's mother, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and David Tennant recently joined the cast as Yelchin's friend "Evil" Ed Thompson and Peter Vincent, a magician and self-proclaimed expert on vampires.
According to the report, the remake will stray from the original a little by having Mintz-Plasse's Ed discover the vampire instead of Yelchin's Charlie, and Collette's character will be more involved in the story than in the original.
Shooting on the remake will begin in a couple weeks, and like almost all movies getting a green light these days, Fright Night will be in 3-D. The movie even has a release date, opening October 7, 2011.
