Knight and Day Reviews

From the get-go, Knight & Day looked a lot like a movie we'd seen five years ago: Mr. & Mrs. Smith. So much so, in fact, that we closely examined the similarities and wondered if 20th Century Fox just reused some old footage. How are critics receiving this new version? Have Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz recaptured some of that Vanilla Sky magic?
"The movie is entertaining, but could have been better."
— Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
"...an oddly uninvolving caper..."
— Lisa Schwarzbaum, Village Voice
"...a high-energy, low-impact caper-comedy that labors to bring a measure of wit, romance and glamour to an overworked spy-thriller template."
— Justin Chang, Variety
"...a galumphing mediocrity..."
— Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune
"A loud, seemingly interminable, and altogether incoherent entry in the preposterous and proliferating "action-comedy" genre..."
— A. O. Scott, New York Times
"...a hyperactive, joyless thriller..."
— Dan Kois, Village Voice
