Too Scary for Twilight Fans: Paranormal Activity 2 Trailer Pulled from Theaters
07.01.10 by Ryan
Writer-director Oren Peli scared up $193 million (on a $15,000 budget) with his debut movie, Paranormal Activity; a movie that was almost universally accepted as indeed very scary. Even critics agreed that Paranormal had some legitimate scares, and so far, the trailer for the sequel is living up to the original.
The trailer for Paranormal Activity 2, this time directed by Tod "Kip" Williams, is playing before showings of The Twilight Saga; Eclipse, and is proving to be scarier than the movie that proceeds it. Deadline reports that the Cinemark chain of movie theaters has pulled the trailer from some theaters in Texas after viewers complained that it was "too scary". Variety has confirmed the report.
We're not exactly sure what was so scary for the Twilight fans: The dog? The baby? The lady in the doorway? Perhaps the reason is because the trailer is playing in front of a theater full of fans who like their vampires pretty and sparkly instead of vicious and frightening. Watch the trailer again below — if you dare.
