Chris Columbus NOT Directing Superman Movie
07.11.10 by Ryan
One thing's for sure: People are excited for another Superman movie. Since The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan was reported to be acting as "godfather" on a Superman reboot (tentatively titled Superman: The Man of Steel), speculative questions have followed Nolan everywhere, including who he will cast (Nolan says he hasn't "even thought about" it) and if Nolan will direct (he says he will only "act as producer").
With Nolan definitively not directing, a report spread that Chris Columbus, director of the first two Harry Potter movies, was offered the directing job, but Collider disagrees. According to their source, "Chris Columbus has NOT been offered the chance to helm the next Superman movie." For some, this news may come as a sigh of relief. For others that wanted a Superman movie from the director of Home Alone, we send our apologies.
David Goyer is writing the screenplay for the reboot, which Warner Bros. wants to release in December of 2012.
