Zachary Levi Addresses Superman Casting Rumor

Despite the fact that Christopher Nolan has said that he hasn't "even thought about" casting the role of Clark Kent, aka Superman, in the new Superman movie that he is developing for Warner Bros., that hasn't stopped rumors from spreading about which actors might be in talks for the coveted role. One of the rumors that has really made the rounds since it first appeared online has Chuck star Zachary Levi up for the role. However, in a recent interview with AceShowbiz, Levi said that the rumor is untrue, a "bummer" that it's untrue, but "complete fiction" nonetheless.
According to the rumor, an anonymous source on the Warner Bros. lot had revealed that Levi had already auditioned for the role of "The Man of Steel," something that was news to the actor. Levi said that he found out about the rumor when his friends and publicist told him about it.
I start getting these text messages from my friends, saying, 'What is going on? You didn't tell us any of this!' And I'm asking, 'What are you talking about?' I get this link emailed to me from my publicist. She goes, 'Just so you know…'
Levi said that he checked out the article that started the rumor and was dismayed that "the vast majority" of the comments about it were along the lines of "I love Zach, but he's not Superman."
I guess one of the things that I fear is that people pigeonhole me in the nerd role. Because a lot them say, 'Well, I can see him as Clark Kent, but I can't see me as Supes.' I'm an actor! Just give me six months and a gym. Give me something!
