Writer-director Edgar Wright's (Hot Fuzz) latest movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, opens tomorrow and Universal is making one final marketing push by unleashing a plethora of new promotional videos. Based on the popular Scott Pilgrim indie comic book by Bryan Lee O'Malley, the movie follows slacker musician Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) as he tries to win the affections of the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) by battling his way through her seven "evil" exes in video-game inspired combat. Equal parts comedy and action movie, with a healthy portion of rock-and-roll sprinkled throughout, Wright's adaptation breaks the mold of what a "comic book movie" is supposed to be.
In this clip, Scott Pilgrim (Cera) gets some dating advice from his roommate Wallace Wells (Kieran Culkin) and some unexpected bad news.
During MTV's live coverage from last month's San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), Wright revealed that he solicited some advice from filmmaker Quentin Tarantino about how to whip his Scott Pilgrim cast into fighting shape.
In a behind-the-scenes video from the set of the movie, Wright and cast members Winstead, Mark Webber, and Brie Larson, discuss the "big bass battle" fight sequence between Scott Pilgrim and Evil Ex #3, Todd Ingram (Brandon "Superman" Routh) at Lee's Palace, a replica of a real rock club.
And, in another clip from MTV's SDCC coverage, Webber, Alison Pill and Johnny Simmons discuss the training they had to undergo to play the rock band Sex Bob-Omb.
Finally, here is a video from out of left field. While promoting the movie on Fox 5 News in Atlanta, stars Cera and Jason Schwartzman, who plays Evil Ex #7, Gideon Graves, attempted to fill in for the station's weatherman, with hilarious results.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World also stars Chris Evans, Satya Bhabha, Mae Whitman and Ellen Wong.
