Josh Brolin Wasn't a Fan of Jonah Hex Either

Bad reviews, a mere 13% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a measly $10 million in worldwide box office; is there anything else that could go wrong for director Jimmy Hayward's adaptation of the DC comic book Jonah Hex? How about star Josh Brolin admitting to MTV that he was not proud of the movie?
I think because we had an original intention and that got away from us a little bit. I think everybody did, and I say this in all seriousness, everybody did do their best to try and create the best movie with what we had, but I think it got so derailed at a certain point that the assemblage of what we could use was so disconnected to what our original intention was that it just got mixed up.
Not that Brolin thought the movie was all bad.
I still think it's a lot of fun, and I wasn't lying because that's what I told the marketing people at Warner Bros. I said, "I can't lie about this, so I have to look for a truism that I can go with." But I do think that if you go in there, kind of like with Piranha 3-D — when you go to see that movie you go, "This is ridiculous and this is fun" — so if you went into Jonah Hex with that, I think you had a good time.
Some critics did agree with Brolin on that point. Movieline's review of the movie called it "hardly a work of genius but wholly serviceable as a bit of summer silliness." The only problem was, no one else on Earth seemed to agree.
