Keanu Reeves "Trying" for a Third Bill & Ted Movie

While movie audiences are familiar with Hollywood's penchant for sequels and remakes, but would movie studios consider a third Bill & Ted adventure? The 1989 original introduced audiences to Bill S. Preston, Esq (Alex Winter) and Theodore "Ted" Logan (Keanu Reeves) and their first time-traveling "Excellent Adventure," which continued in the 1991 sequel, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. Reeves, who moved on to movie stardom with hits like Speed and The Matrix while Winter became a director, told MTV that they are "trying" to make a third Bill & Ted movie.
Alex and I are still friends and we're talking, and we're talking to [Bill & Ted screenwriters] Chris [Matheson] and Ed [Solomon]. They're going to try and see if they can write something. To me, I'd love to play the role. I'd love to work with Alex and Chris and Ed again. We'll see what they do. If it's a film that can stand up on its own ... and I'm meeting people now, who they've shown the film to their kids. We just seek to entertain, and if that could be something that could be worthwhile, on its own ...
While no script exists for the movie, Reeves is clearly excited by the idea, and with sequels like Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps arriving 23 years after the original, a third Bill & Ted movie seems plausible.
