Keke Palmer Cast in Marvel's Runaways

The start date for Marvel Studio's Runaways is coming in March, and the first cast member has now been announced. Actress Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee) revealed to Essence (via SlashFilm) that she has been offered a role in the movie.
I’ve had a nice little break with the steady TV show [True Jackson, VP] but I’m definitely ready to do some more films again. I was just asked to join a new Marvel comic project called, Runaways.
Runaways follows a group teenagers with superpowers who go on the run when they discover their parents are part of a super villains organization called The Pride. A recent casting notice revealed the four female lead roles of the movie, and neglected to include that one of the roles, Nico Minoru, was Asian American, despite including that an African-American male was being sought (for the role of Alex Wilder). Marvel quickly corrected the notice in an effort to "stay true to the legacy and story of the comic."
What role Palmer will play is unknown, though SuperHeroHype speculates that she could be Karolina Dean in the movie.
Peter Sollett is set to direct Runaways, with writer Drew Pearce adapting the script from Brian K. Vaughn's comic book. Runaways has no release date, though it likely won't be released until after The Avengers hits theaters on May 4, 2012.
