Jesse Eisenberg Discusses The Social Network and Zombieland 2

Actor Jesse Eisenberg has been on a roll since the success of the horror/comedy Zombieland last year, taking parts in independant dramas like Solitary Man and Holy Rollers. In The Social Network, Eisenberg takes on, arguably, his greatest challenge by portraying Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The movie tells the story of Zuckerberg and the founding of the social networking site, from three different perspectives, only one of them being Zuckerberg's.
Eisenberg told Reuters that while he acted as the Facebook founder for six months making the movie, he never actually met the real Zuckerberg, though he did spend "six months listening to him on my iPod every morning." The research prepared Eisenberg to portray Zuckerberg without choosing any of the movie's three perspectives.
My job as an actor was to defend my character, Mark Zuckerberg, every day for six months, 14 hours-a-day while we were filming. Therefore, there was never any question for me personally that my character was responsible and right and even a good friend because that was my job. Once you stop thinking along those lines, it's impossible to play the role you're assigned.
Eisenberg is already working on another movie, the comedy 30 Minutes or Less with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer. Eisenberg admitted to reading a script for Zombieland 2 in September, calling it an "early draft" that was "amazing." But he was less enthusiastic about the sequel in a recent interview with MTV.
The movie is beloved, I didn't realize. The movie company has explained to me that there is a great interest in the movie after it came out; people really started to take to it. So that's nice. I know all the people who worked on it and if they were to put together a good sequel we would all probably be excited to do it.
"Probably excited" is altogether different from Eisenberg's previous comments that he's "really excited" about the sequel, but with Fleischer adding new projects to his schedule, the question of when another Zombieland will be made remains. For Esienberg's part, he says he's not sure what he would do in the sequel that would top the original.
I killed clown zombies in the first one. I can't imagine what other things I could do that would kind of overshadow that.
