Warner Bros. is ramping up its promotional campaign for the first part of the two-part final chapter in the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. In the last couple days, three new character posters featuring Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) were released, each bearing the slogan "Nowhere Is Safe," and a "countdown" to the premiere video popped up online that featured a personal message from Radcliffe to the fans. Now, a new teaser poster has been released showing our trio of junior wizards running for their lives, most likely with Voldemort's (Ralph Fiennes) Death Eaters in hot pursuit.
Even though the final chapter in the lives of creator J.K. Rowling's epic fantasy novel series has already been written, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the series has come to an end. According to Radcliffe, Rowling told him last year that she has no plans to write another Harry Potter novel, but Rowling admitted on yesterday's episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show that the characters are still in her head and she could write an eighth, ninth or even tenth novel. She quickly qualified her statement, adding, "I feel I’m done, but you never know."
So, is this just hype to help generate interest in the new movie or is Rowling actually considering re-opening the series? Whatever the case, the news has millions of Potter fans around the world in a tizzy over the possibility of more novels and more movies. For his part, Radcliffe seems to be content with putting the series behind him, saying last year that "hopefully" Rowling won't write more novels. However, he added that "if she does, of course I would have to consider it, because I have a loyalty to her and to the fans."
