Production on Mission: Impossible 4 is underway, as revealed in the set photos released last week that showed Tom Cruise on the Prague, Czech Republic, location sporting a sweet mustache and military uniform. More set photos were released this week, showing a shirtless Cruise performing a zip line stunt. The rest of the already cast actors have yet to be seen in set photos: Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vladimir Mashkov, and Josh Holloway.
In this fourth outing of the Mission: Impossible franchise, the villain will be played by Michael Nyqvist (the Swedish adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), but at least one of the two latest cast additions will be aiding Nyqvist with his troublemaking.
THR reports that French actress Lea Seydoux, who had supporting roles in Robin Hood and the opening sequence of Inglourious Basterds, will join Nyqvist as one of the movie's villains.
Anil Kapoor (the game show host in Slumdog Millionaire) is also joining the cast, but not as a villain, like Deadline initially reported. Paramount corrected the report, saying Kapoor would play an "integral supporting role" in the movie.
Mission: Impossible 4 (working title) opens December 16, 2011, with Brad Bird directing. Mission: Impossible III director J.J. Abrams is producing and worked in the unrevealed story with Alias writers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. Once shooting finished in Prague, the shoot will continue in Vancouver and Dubai.
