Director Brett Ratner's upcoming comedy Tower Heist is rounding out casting. Last week, news spread that Eddie Murphy joined the cast of the comedy, alongside Ben Stiller and Alan Alda. Stiller will play a manager of an affluent high rise who leads a crew of disgruntled workers in a heist of its penthouse resident (Alda), a Bernie Madoff-esque, Wall Street capitalist who defrauded the staff of their pensions. Murphy will play a safe cracker who joins the team. Now, more actors have been added to the growing, high profile cast.
THR reports that Tea Leoni
has joined the cast as an FBI agent who falls for Stiller despite his criminal intentions. Leoni last worked with Ratner on 2000's The Family Man.
Tower Heist is also getting some Oscar-nominated help from Gabourey Sidibe (Precious), whom EW reports will join the movie as another of the high-rise employees that Stiller rallies. Michael Pena (Observe and Report) will also play a building employee.
Screenwriter Jeff Nathanson (Rush Hour 3) is the one responsible for the latest draft, which Universal will put into production next month in New York.
