Aaron Eckhart Fine with Not Returning for Batman 3

Last September, actor Aaron Eckhart admitted he would be interested in reprising the role of Harvey Dent in Batman 3 if he was asked to by director Christopher Nolan. Even Eckhart admitted that it would be difficult to bring him back after his character's demise in The Dark Knight, but comic book movies are fickle when it comes to death, and, as often happens, those that perish don't often stay that way.
Over a year later, however, Eckhart revealed to NBC San Diego that he's content to sit out Batman 3.
It was such a great experience to be one off and to be in the movie with Heath [Ledger], and to have Chris even put me in the movie is just wonderful. I just feel like it's its own entity. It's its own capsule in the Batman series. So they'll go on and I'll watch them and be very happy with what I have.
That doesn't mean that Eckhart isn't keeping up on all the casting gossip, admitting that he is "digging" all that he's heard so far, and has even approached Nolan about them.
In fact, I just talked to Chris the other day. I saw him and I said, "So, Angelina [Jolie] as Catwoman?" I talked to him about it as a fan, you know? I'd like to see that. Or Johnny Depp as the Riddler, right?
We don't know, Aaron, you tell us. So far, the only new actor added to the cast is Tom Hardy in an unspecified role.
