No Wolverine in X-Men: First Class

Forget the internet rumors, it looks like Hugh Jackman won't appear in X-Men prequel X-Men: First Class. Initially thought to be making a cameo after a cab driver Tweeted that he had given the actor a ride to the Atlanta airport (nearby Jekyll Island is reportedly one of shooting locations), First Class producer and story plotter Bryan Singer told Coventry Telegraph that Jackman won't be in the movie.
He's not in the movie, he's in the Wolverine movies.
A spokesman for Fox confirmed that Jackman won't make a cameo. "X-Men [First Class]hasn't started shooting in Georgia yet and if Hugh was in Georgia, it wasn't for this movie."
Wolverine helped save a group of young mutants in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, that Professor X (Patrick Stewart) intercepted. While that event took place chronologically before the X-Men trilogy (we assume anyway, since Cyclops was depicted as a teenager and Stewart was digitally de-aged), but First Class looks to go even further into the past.
"We've set First Class in a time when the X-Men were conceived in the early 60s, up against political events that were happening — the early civil rights movement — and we have these kinds of events at a time when the world didn't know mutants existed," explained Singer, who called First Class the "first Silver Age Marvel movie," a reference to the comics published between 1958 and 1970.
Singer also revealed that the movie will use "some characters I was able to bring back in time that are familiar, as well as some new characters." First Class will also feature "a new villain component, a really cool villain and villain group." The villain Singer is referring to is Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon), who leads a sinister group known as the Hellfire Club. Michael Fassbender will play Magneto, who apparently won't be the villain, but is obviously the center of tension in the movie.
Additionally, the cast includes Caleb Landry Jones as Banshee, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, January Jones as Emma Frost, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Lucas Till as Havok, and Edi Gathegi as Darwin.
