Zombieland 2 Screenwriter Rhett Reese Debunks Rumors

Several rumors began spreading over the weekend (and continue to spread) about Zombieland 2. The rumors stemmed from a Bloody-Disgusting report that claimed the sequel was aiming for another "superstar cameo," with Anthony Hopkins and Harrison Ford mentioned as possibilities. The report's "inside info" also mentioned that the sequel will feature "a lead villain with comedic roots" as well as a "hunky rival" for Woody Harrelson's character of Tallahassee.
While these don't seem like outlandish rumors for the sequel to 2009's Zombieland, screenwriter Rhett Reese took to his Twitter account to call the rumors "false."
The Zombieland 2 rumors reported today are false.
The Zombieland 2 rumors feel like they were the product of a game of 'Telephone.' Distorted.
Director Ruben Fleischer admitted to seeing an "early draft" of the Zombieland 2 script in September, though Reese revealed earlier this month that he and writing partner Paul Wernick were still working on the script, which is being planned for 3-D.
It is worth noting, however, that Reese calls the rumors "distorted" as if they came from a place of truth. We'll have to wait until more details surface to be sure if there's even a shred of truth behind these rumors.
