DVD Art Claims Saw 3D Is "The Final Chapter"

Saw producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules announced at this year's Comic-Con that the latest sequel, Saw 3D (a.k.a. Saw VII), would be the last installment, though that fact wasn't represented in the title. That's changed now that the movie is heading to the home video market.
Bloody-Disgusting got a copy of Saw 3D's DVD and Blu-ray art, which reveals the new title Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, indicating that the long-running horror movie franchise is indeed coming to an end, something the press (and fans) have had trouble believing.
Skepticism over Saw 3D really being "the final chapter" is understandable, considering that many horror movie sequels similarly names have turned out to be anything but the last sequel. However, co-screenwriter Patrick Melton reiterated the producers' statement in September, saying that Saw 3D was "the last shebang," and, a month later, director Kevin Greutert concurred, claiming "we would like to go out with a bang, not a whimper, so everyone has agreed to decree Saw 3D the final chapter."
Saw 3D opened on Halloween weekend in first place at the box office. The sequel went on to gross $119 million worldwide. The prior sequel, Saw VI, only grossed $68 million worldwide.
