I’d like to say a few words about how much fun I had with the Reelzchannel gang while filming Richard Christy’s Holiday Horrorfest in Albuquerque, NM. Everything happened so fast and we pulled off the Herculean effort of filming the full show in two days! Producer Brian Thomas, Director of Photography Mike Schiff, Special Effects Make Up Artist Brian Spears, and everyone at Reelzchannel put so much hard work into this show and it is going to be awesome!
Over one weekend in Albuquerque we filmed a Zombie Santa makeup segment; a mini horror movie in the desert; in-studio hosting segments; behind-the-scenes videos; a music segment with a drumming Zombie Santa; A visit to Cerillos, NM to visit filming locations of John Carpenter’s Vampires; and interviews in Santa Fe, NM with horror fans and holiday tourists!
This show really was a labor of love for everyone involved, we’re all huge horror fans and we really wanted to make a show that other horror fans would love to watch and also that even non horror fans could be entertained by as well. I’ve had some great times in Albuquerque touring with my former bands Death and Iced Earth and it was great to go back and film this awesome show. Getting to visit Cerillos, NM was really cool as well, I went there ten years ago when I was on tour with the band Incantation and I’ve always wanted to go back. The town is tiny but has tons of character and when you visit there you can easily see why many movies have filmed there. I’m really excited for people to see this show and after all of our hard work I am so pumped to see the finish product myself, I will be having a big party for friends this Saturday at 11pm to watch the show and I hope you will all be watching too! If the show does well then there’s a possibility that there will be more in the future so I have my fingers crossed because I had such a blast filming this show, it was like Halloween in December for me, and I would love it to be Halloween all year long if we get to keep doing this show! Thank you to everyone involved for bringing the horror to the holidays!
