Shooting on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is now complete. Again. The final chapter of the Harry Potter franchise entered into some reshoots of the movie's epilogue, a necessity Daniel Radcliffe recently explained to SlashFilm in November.
It was an interesting one, because I think we made it very hard on ourselves, because we shot it at King’s Cross [Train Station], for real. And, you know, this time we’ll be shooting it in Leavesden on a set, because it’s...We made it very hard on ourselves. To have to rush that sequence, and it’s an important sequence, is not something that any of us want to do. So I think next time, when we come back to it and revisit certain moments in it, we’ll be trying to keep it paced slowly...
A few new cast members have been added for the epilogue. According to ScreenTerriers, fourteen-year-old actor Benedict Clarke will make his acting debut as Young Severus Snape, while thirteen-year-old Bertie Gilbert will play Scorpius Malfoy, the son of Draco (Tom Felton). Whether the young Snape will be used in flashbacks, as the character has been used previously, is unknown.
Also joining the cast is Kelly MacDonald, who confirmed to Vanity Fair that the Scottish actress is joining the cast as the Grey Lady, the Ravenclaw house ghost. The character plasy a pivotal, albeit brief, role in the final chapters of J.K. Rowling's novel.
The Grey Lady was previously portrayed by Nina Young, who appeared as the character in Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 opens July 15 in 3-D. David Yates directed the movie, along with Part 1. Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter also star.
