Popular entertainment news program Entertainment Tonight recently aired tantalizing sneak peeks at two upcoming movies and those videos can now be viewed online. The first ET exclusive is only a promo advertising a future behind-the-scenes feature on Marvel Studios' next big comic book movie adaptation, Captain America: The First Avenger, but the six-second video offers up a rare look at title actor Chris Evans wearing the iconic star-spangled costume beneath tattered military fatigues with Cap's original, triangle-shaped shield on his back. Eagle-eyed comic veterans will also be able to pick out Neal McDonough sporting the characteristic bowler hat of Howling Commando "Dum Dum" Dugan.
Captain America: The First Avenger was written by Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus and directed by Joe Johnston. Based on the classic patriotic character created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, the movie tells the story of Steve Rogers, a sickly young man who became America's first "super soldier" during WWII after an experimental procedure enhanced his body to the peak of human perfection. The movie also stars Sebastian Stan as James "Bucky" Barnes, Cap's youthful costumed sidekick; Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Cap's love interest and a freedom fighter with the French resistance; and and Hugo Weaving as Cap's longtime enemy, the notorious Nazi warmonger known as the Red Skull. The movie opens July 22, 2011
The second ET exclusive offers a sneak peek at Argentina-born director Juan Solanas's new romantic sci-fi movie, Upside Down. The movie stars British heartthrob Jim Sturgess as Adam, a seemingly ordinary man who lives on a world very much like our own, except that it lies directly beneath an inverted alternate world. When Adam sees his almost-forgotten childhood love, Eve (Kirsten Dunst), on television, he is determined to break the laws of sciene and nature to reach the other world and reunite with Eve. The ET exclusive offers little information about the plot of the movie, but it does provide a behind-the-scenes look at some of the high-flying green screen action of the movie and also includes brief interviews with Sturgess and Dunst. Upside Down is currently in post-production, aimed at a May release.
