Columbia Pictures has released several new posters for director Michel Gondry's (Be Kind Rewind) The Green Hornet, the big-screen adaptation of the classic masked radio serial hero of the '40s and '50s. A couple weeks ago, a new Green Hornet quad poster was released for the UK movie market that featured four images of the main characters across the top. Now, those four images have been released as a series of character posters aimed at the Korean movie market. The four posters feature: The Green Hornet (Seth Rogen), Kato (Jay Chou), Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), and Benjamin Chudnofsky (Academy Award–winner Christoph Waltz). Additionally, a new US teaser poster was also recently released that shows the updated Green Hornet logo.
The Green Hornet was written by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who also wrote the Rogen-starring movies Superbad and Pineapple Express. Unlike the majority of recent superhero movies, which have taken a more serious, realistic approach to costumed crimefighting, The Green Hornet goes the comedy route, upsetting the usual hero-sidekick paradigm by depicting Rogen's Green Hornet as more of a bumbling wannabe who allows his martial arts and weapons expert sidekick, Kato, do all of the hard work. Edward Furlong, Edward James Olmos and Tom Wilkinson also star.
Also, a new Italian-language movie poster for Greg Mottola's (Superbad, Adventureland) new sci-fi comedy, Paul, has just been released online. Written by and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost — who previously starred together in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz — Paul follows two British sci-fi geeks (Pegg and Frost) as they attend the San Diego Comic-Con and journey into the desert to get a glimpse of the fabled UFO hot-spot known as Area 51. Along the way, the duo encounter a real-life extraterrestrial named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) and agree to help the little fellow escape from the "men in black" who are after him. Bill Hader, Jason Bateman, Sigourney Weaver, Kristen Wiig, and Blythe Danner also star.
