Universal went into its holiday hiatus with two names on its short list to direct Ouija, the big screen adaptation of the popular Hasbro board game that lets users "talk to the dead," and now a decision has been made. According to THR, Universal has chosen McG (Terminator Salvation) over Breck Eisner (The Crazies) to helm Ouija, which is being produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company.
The script of the movie is being written by Tron: Legacy screenwriters Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz and is described as a "supernatural adventure centering around a family" that is aimed at an all-ages audience in the same vein as such movies as The Mummy and Indiana Jones. No stars have been attached to the project as of yet and there is no word on when the movie will go into production.
