Sam Rockwell Wants to Play a Superhero on the Big Screen

In the days leading up to the release of Iron Man 2, director Jon Favreau revealed that, before Robert Downey Jr. landed the role that reignited his languishing career, acclaimed character actor Sam Rockwell was once in consideration to play the "Armored Avenger," Tony Stark, in Iron Man.
Even though he didn't end up going with Rockwell for the part of Stark, Favreau kept him in mind and ended up casting Rockwell as Justin Hammer, a darker, less capable reflection of Tony Stark in the sequel, a part Rockwell nailed. Apparently, his near brush with becoming a super-actor has left Rockwell wanting, as he recently admitted to Empire magazine (via WorstPreviews) that he is itching to play a character with superhuman powers on the big screen.
I'd love to play a superhero. I know it'd take some doing to convince some people but I think I'd be a great one. I've played Batman in Robin's Big Date, but I've never had superpowers and I'd love to get some. It's about time.
