Maybe they should change the name of the next Batman movie from The Dark Knight Rises to Inception: The Reunion.
News came out Monday that another Inception star is in talks of joining the cast of Christopher Nolan's conclusion to his Batman trilogy. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting Marion Cotillard, who played Leonardo DiCaprio's wife in Nolan's 2010 blockbuster Inception, is in talks of playing the second female role in DKR (Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle a.k.a Catwoman). The rumored role for Cotillard is Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of villain Ra's Al Gul, played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins.
If she joins, Cotillard will join her Inception co-stars Tom Hardy, who will play Batman nemesis Bane, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who is rumored to play everyone from The Riddler to Robin to even a reincarnation of Joker.
But complicating matters is the fact that Cotillard is currently pregnant and expecting a baby in June and filming for DKR is set to start in May. But as THR points out, she could start shooting later in June as production is expected to last through summer and take place in L.A., Pittsburgh and will wrap up in November in New York.
Despite Nolan's penchant for hiring actors he's worked with previously, the director reportedly considered other actresses Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts.
