Hall Pass Reviews
02.24.11 by REELZ
Being big fans of raunchy R-rated comedies, we were so looking forward to the Farrelly Brothers' Hall Pass. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to live up to the promise of the concept.
"...Hall Pass would like to be as dunked in reality as Judd Apatow's best comedies, but the movie is thin."
— Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly
"...while the stabs at grown-up insight miss their targets, pic still packs more pure comedic punch than the [directors] Farrellys' last few offerings..."
— Andrew Barker, Variety
— Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune
"...(has) tons of whiffs but still more solidly hit laughs than in a dozen Couples Retreats."
— Nick Pinkerton, Village Voice
"...an unbecoming and only fitfully funny account of two fortyish married guys making a final pathetic shot at playing the field."
— Todd McCarthy, Hollywood Reporter
