On its April cover, Empire has arguably (and probably physically) the largest stars of the upcoming summer movie season — Sentinel Prime and Optimus from Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Michael Bay's third installment of the robot franchise. The cover reveals the new baddie Sentinel Prime, the mysterious transformer shown on the moon at the end of the movie's teaser trailer and according to the article in Empire, he's an autobot and is described as a big brother mentor to Optimus.
Though he's a new character to the movie franchise, Sentinel Prime was actually mentioned in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, when Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) said his name while he was in an All Spark-induced trance.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon opens July 1, and stars LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, Patrick Dempsey, John Malkovich, and Frances McDormand.
