The mystery of what writer/director Quentin Tarantino would do as his follow-up to 2009's Inglourious Basterds was still in play until Italian actor Franco Nero spilled the news in an interview with Italian site Movieplayer that his next project would be a Spaghetti Western with Tarantino that would also star Keith Carradine and Treat Williams. AICN confirmed the news, adding that Christoph Waltz would appear in the movie as well.
While Deadline could not confirm many of the details, the site did speak briefly to Tarantino after the Oscars, who confirmed that he has completed the script for the Western, which he will deliver to The Weinstein Company in the next two months. After the script is delivered, The Weinstein Company will move toward a production start.
Harvey Weinstein did recently reveal that the Oscars won by The King's Speech was "great for my company" and has "attracted many films and all kinds of new financing opportunities." Tarantino's Western could be the beneficiary.
