Diane Lane Discusses Her Superman Role

Earlier this month, Diane Lane was the first cast member to join Henry Cavill in director Zack Snyder's Superman reboot. Lane will play Martha Kent, the adoptive mother of Cavill's Clark Kent.
Lane told USA Weekend that her first act of preparation was to watch Snyder's Watchmen "to remind myself of what an audacious, brilliant man Zack Snyder is."
I love 300 and I’m very flattered to play Martha Kent and live up to his vision. It’s pretty cool. I’ve always wanted to raise a good man. I thought that was the biggest challenge a woman could have, and so I get the embarrassment of riches.
Snyder's Superman was written by David S. Goyer and produced by Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas, and Snyder's wife, Deborah. Kevin Costner is rumored to be playing opposite Lane as Jonathan Kent, Clark's dad.
While no start date has been officially announced yet, Lane says that shooting on the movie will begin this summer. "It’s going to be a wild ride," said Lane.
