First Eye-Popping Look at Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman

We don't normally blog about TV news here at Reelz. We are "TV About Movies," after all. But every once in a while something in TV land happens that transcends our mission statement. Such is the case with the recently-released publicity shot of Adrianne Palicki (Legion) in full regalia as Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, from David E. Kelley's (Mystery Alaska, Boston Legal TV series) new TV pilot for NBC.
And, no, it's not simply because Palicki looks incredible in the skin-tight red-and-blue costume of the warrior Amazon or because comic book characters are all the rage in Hollywood these days, with 2011 seeing the debut of movies about classic characters like Captain America, Green Lantern, Green Hornet, Thor and the
X-Men. No, the reason it's worth blogging about is because Wonder Woman is one of the oldest (don't tell her we said that) superheroes—she first appeared in All Star Comics #8, published in December 1941, just three years after Superman debuted—as well as the most popular and easily recognizable female superhero of all time and we think it's about time she made a comeback.
Step aside, Lynda Carter, there's a new Wonder Woman in town.
