M. Night Shyamalan Teams With Will and Jaden Smith to Make Sci-Fi Movie You Might Watch

Writer/director M. Night Shyamalan's last movie, The Last Airbender practically swept the Razzies, the awards that "celebrate" the worst movies of the year. The one positive that could be said of The Last Airbender was that it was better than Shyamalan's previous movie, the universally-despised The Happening, which even lead actor Mark Wahlberg admitted wasn't good.
However, redemption may be around the corner as Columbia Pictures has announced that Shyamalan will team with Will Smith and his actor son Jaden for an untitled sci-fi movie (previously referred to as One Thousand A.E.). Set 1,000 years in the future, the movie follows the Smiths as a (surprise!) father and son who crash into an abandoned and frightening Earth.
"The chance to make a scary, science-fiction film starring Jaden and Will is my dream project," said Shyamalan, who co-wrote the script with Gary Whitta (The Book of Eli).
We just hope that the project is a little more like Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense than The Lady in the Water.
